Dear Pastors, Church Leaders, and Beloved Congregations,
With grateful hearts, we give glory to God for His amazing grace and unfailing faithfulness toward Concordia Theological Seminary, Nagercoil, as we celebrate 102 years of God’s gracious guidance and sustaining presence.
For more than a century, the Lord has used this institution to equip men and women for theological education, pastoral ministry, and faithful service to His Church. We praise God for the LCMS missionaries who sacrificially served and contributed to the theological formation and growth of the Seminary. We thank God for the generations of theological teachers, professors, administrators, and staff who faithfully laboured to nurture and prepare students for Christ’s ministry.
We also give thanks for the students—past and present—who have studied, prayed, learned, and been prepared to serve God and His people in different contexts. Above all, we acknowledge that it is God’s grace that has sustained the Seminary throughout these 102 years. “Thus far the LORD has helped us” (1 Samuel 7:12).
We are especially grateful for the leadership of the Indian Evangelical Lutheran Church (IELC), the three Synods, and all the congregations and members whose prayers, support, offerings, and partnership have contributed to the ministry of the Seminary. This journey has never been the work of one institution alone; it has been a shared ministry in the service of Christ and His Church.
A Call to Prayer
Therefore, we lovingly call upon all pastors, church leaders, and congregations to join us in thanksgiving and prayer.
Let us pray for:
– The faculty, staff, and administration, that God may grant them wisdom, strength, unity, and joy in their vocation.
– The students, that they may grow in faith, knowledge, holiness, humility, and commitment to Christ and His Word.
– The future pastors and church workers, that the Lord may equip them to serve faithfully and courageously.
– The IELC leadership and the three Synods, that God may grant wisdom and vision for the strengthening of theological education and ministry.
– All our congregations, that they may continue to pray for, encourage, and support theological education.
– The Seminary’s mission and future, that it may remain faithful to Christ, grounded in Holy Scripture, and committed to preparing servants for the Church.
As we look back with thanksgiving and look forward with hope, may we remember that the Seminary’s strength and future ultimately rest in the gracious hands of God.
