CTS is one of the affiliated colleges of Senate of Serampore College [University] since 1959 and offers Senate of Serampore College [University] degrees, such as Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.), Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.), and Bachelor of Christian Studies (B.C.S).

Bachelor of Divinity

Bachelor of Divinity

The Bachelor of Divinity (BD) degree programme is a Master’s level programme offered to candidates who already have passed a Bachelor Degree. The BD Degree is designed to prepare students for “Pastoral Ministry.” The study is aimed to prepare and equip pastoral candidates for the diversified ministries of the Church in particular and society in general.

Admission Requirements

  1. Candidate must be baptised and a confirmand member of the Church.
  2. Candidate must have a Bachelor or Master Degree from a recognized University.
  3. Those who passed the Senate of Serampore College [University] B.Th.; B.Miss. shall be enrolled in the second year.
  4. Those who passed BCS shall be enrolled in the second year, provided all the compulsory Non-Credit BD courses (1. English, 2. Greek, 3. Hebrew, and 4. Study Method) are passed as Senate examined papers before BD registration.
  5. Those who passed the ATA B.Th. must have a SSC BD Qualifying Examination pass Certificate.
  6. Those who passed Dip.CS  shall be enrolled in first year BD.

Entrance Test

The candidate must pass the entrance test and oral interview conducted by CTS.

Duration of Study

The BD Degree programme shall be 3 years for University Candidates;  2 years for B.Th.; B.Miss.; BCS candidates.

Bachelor of Theology

Bachelor of Theology

The Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) degree programme is a Bachelor’s level programme offered to candidates who have passed +2. The B.Th. Degree is designed to prepare students for “Pastoral Ministry.” The study is aimed to prepare and equip pastoral candidates for the diversified ministries of the Church in particular and society in general.

Admission Requirements

  1. Candidate must be baptised and a confirmand member of the Church.
  2. Candidate has completed 18 years of age.
  3. Candidate must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination (12th or PUC with a total of 12 years of schooling from standard one).  
  4. Candidate who has passed 10th class and should have done two years of further study in a theological or secular institution (two year Diploma courses such as ITI, Nursing, Hotel Management etc.) and should have experience in Christian ministry or any public service.

Entrance Test

The candidate must pass the entrance test and oral interview conducted by CTS.

Duration of Study

Three Years.

Bachelor of Christian Studies

Bachelor of Christian studies

The Bachelor of Christian Studies (BCS) degree programme is an external study programme is offered to candidates who already have passed a Bachelor Degree.

Admission Requirements

  1. Candidate must be baptised and a confirmand member of the Church.
  2. Candidate must have a Bachelor or Master Degree from a recognized University.
  3. Those who passed the Senate of Serampore College [University] Diploma in Christian Studies (Dip.C.S.) shall be enrolled in the third year.

Duration of Study

The BCS Degree programme shall be 4 years for University Candidates; 2 years for Dip.C.S. Candidates.

Pre-Seminary Course

Pre-Seminary Course

The Pre-Seminary Course (PSC) is a One-Year Bible and Lutheran Study designed for India Evangelical Lutheran Church’s pastoral candidates.  Those who successfully complete PSC will be admitted into the BD Degree programme.

Admission Requirements

  1. Candidates must be baptised and a confirmand member of the India Evangelical Lutheran Church.
  2. Candidates must have a Higher Secondary passed or Bachelor or Master Degree holder from a recognized University.

Entrance Test

The candidate must pass the entrance test and oral interview conducted by CTS.

Duration of Study

One Year.
